The BCASBO 2026 AGM and Conference "Connected by Purpose", will be held from Wednesday, May 20th to Friday, May 22nd at the Penticton Lakeside Resort. Please register using the link above. See below for the agenda and hotel information.

The Planning Committee can arrange transportation this year from Kelowna airport to Penticton mid-afternoon on May 19, 2026 with a return service on May 22, 2026 at noon.  Please indicate when you register if you are interested in taking advantage of this service.

BCASBO Fall 2020 Professional Development Series on Zoom

Registration is now open for BCASBO’s Fall 2020 Professional Development Series on Zoom. The Series will take place via sixty or ninety minute Zoom sessions the weeks of November 16 and 23. All presentations listed on the registration site are confirmed. Some of the presentations include dates and times. The dates and times of the Ministry of Education and the presentations by both law firms are still to be confirmed. Once all topics, dates and times are finalized, you will received another e-mail with that information.

Please note that there is a separate price for Non-members who are employed in a BC school district. Please share this information with staff in your school district who may be interested in the presentations. For example, there are three separate Wellness and Resilience presentations. Each will be presented on a stand-alone basis twice for a total of six sessions. Or perhaps Procurement Staff may be interested in the two sessions being presented by Focused Education Resources and the session being presented by the Ministry Management Services Branch and the Ministry of Citizen Services.

Zoom login information for all sessions will be sent to all those who have registered. Expect to receive this information November before the two-week period of Fall Professional Development. You may register for as many sessions as you wish.

Ethics Workshop

This Zoom Workshop, facilitated by Mike McKay, will be offered in two, two-hour sessions - October 22 and October 29 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. Registration fee is $149 +GST for BCASBO members and $249.00 +GST for non-members. The workshop will meet the CPABC requirement for four hours of Ethics training in each rolling three-year calendar period. The session will include an environmental scan, checking the moral barometer, developing a framework for making tough leadership decisions in a clear and consistent way, seeing the tools in your toolbox with fresh eyes, and exploring real issues to confirm or shape your beliefs. Discussions will include the challenges presented in K-12 public education by COVID-19.

The BCASBO 2020 AGM and Conference will not proceed as planned

The BCASBO Executive Committee has decided that the 2020 AGM and Conference scheduled for May 20th - 22nd in Penticton, will not proceed as planned. Options are being considered for rescheduling later in the year and you will find updates here as they become available.

All registrations will be refunded to the credit card used for payment.

All guest room bookings will need to be cancelled individually to avoid cancellation fees. Guests can call 1-800-663-9400 or email lakeside@rpbhotels.com. Due to the hight volume of cancellations, email is currently recommended. Please provide the following information in the subject line of your email to the hotel:
