BCASBO 2026 AGM and Conference – Connected by Purpose

The 2026 BCASBO AGM and Conference "Connected by Purpose", is being held at the Penticton Lakeside Resort and Conference Centre from May 20th to May 22nd.  Early Bird Registration for the 2026 AGM and Conference is now open until 5:00 pm on April 3, 2025.  After that date, registration fees will increase by $150 plus GST.  Registration will be open to May 16, 2026. Refunds are available to May 11, 2026.

Staff employed in BC School Districts who are not BCASBO members may also register on an Early Bird basis.  Please share this information with those individuals in your school district who may be interested in attending the conference. 

The Planning Committee can arrange transportation this year from Kelowna airport to Penticton mid-afternoon on May 19, 2026 with a return service on May 22, 2026 at noon.  Please indicate when you register if you are interested in taking advantage of this service. 

The program this year is structured on four main streams:

  • Human Resources and Payroll 
  • Risk Management and IT 

There will be topics in both the plenary sessions and the breakouts encompassing these steams and while the program is still being finalized but it is expected to include: 

Wednesday, May 20 

Morning

  • Indigenous Blessing, Welcome and Okanagan Song 
  • Truth & Reconciliation Plenary by Marissa McIntyre of Len Pierre Consulting 
  • Plenary Session by Michelle Taschereu of Atlas Brain Health on 'Leading with Intention to Reignite Meaning for You and Your Team'.   

Afternoon

  • BCASBO Annual General Meeting 
  • Trade Show – up to 31 booths for vendor sponsors 
  • Cheese Ambassador, David Beaudoin, will be present during the Trade Show with his expert cheese and wine pairings

Evening

  • Banquet and Entertainment  

Thursday, May 21

Morning

  • Plenary session – Practical Applications of AI 
  • Keynote Speaker – Darci Lang (specific topic to be finalized)

Afternoon

  • Breakout sessions – 60 minutes – 1:00, 2:15 and 3:30 p.m. Up to six choices in each breakout session 
  • Some of the breakout sessions will be presented by our Gold Vendor Sponsors 

Evening  

  • President’s Reception – sponsored by Harris & Company 
  • Installation of 2026-2027 Executive Committee and Member Recognition 
  • Banquet – Sponsored by Koffman, Kalef, Business Lawyers and KPMG

  • Privacy and Records Management – an update on FIPPA disclosure requirements 

Plenary Session (topic to be finalized)
