2026 Fall Conference
November 24–25, 2026 | Hyatt Regency Vancouver
Join BCASBO colleagues in Vancouver for two days of professional learning, practical discussion, and connection. This year’s conference will bring together school business officials, sector partners, and presenters to explore the challenges and opportunities facing BC school districts.
The program is being finalized. Planned highlights include:
Plenary sessions
- Truth and Reconciliation with a representative from Len Pierre Consulting
- A moderated discussion with the Ministry of Education and Child Care and the Ministry of Infrastructure
- An interactive session on change leadership
- Risks and opportunities facing school districts (to be confirmed)
Special sessions
- Ethics with Mike McKay — 2.5 hours of CPABC professional development credit
- Anti-Money Laundering with Michael Sun of KPMG — 1.5 hours of CPABC professional development credit
- Functional area breakfasts on November 25
Breakout sessions
Six breakout time slots are planned, with up to four choices in each. Topics include duty to accommodate, writing investigation reports, ERP implementation, HR and payroll, finance, risk management, child care service delivery, practical applications of AI, and learning on school grounds. The program is also expected to include legal updates, a PEBT update, a Secretary-Treasurer roundtable, and six vendor presentations.
