Legal Professional Development Lunch & Learn Series
BCASBO is pleased to introduce a new Legal Professional Development Lunch & Learn Series for the 2026–2027 school year. The series will provide practical, learning-focused legal education for school district business officials and other district personnel across British Columbia.
Term 1 of the series is currently being developed, with approximately six virtual sessions planned between September and December 2026. Sessions will focus on real-world legal considerations connected to K–12 operations, administration, risk, documentation, decision-making, and governance.
These sessions are open to all school district staff, and BCASBO members are encouraged to share the registration links with colleagues in their districts who may be interested.

Liability and Risk Management for School District Business Officials
This session will focus on waivers and informed consent, with practical considerations tailored to BC school district representatives. The presentation will touch on issues relevant to school activities, field trips, and other district-related contexts where waivers or informed consent may arise.

Workplace Investigations
